Wine in Wheat Country Weekend

Wine lovers get off the beaten path for an inside glimpse into where and how wine is made. Enjoy a weekend of wine in the rural countryside on the edge of the jaw dropping of the Columbia River Gorge. The elegant, award-winning Balch Hotel is your comfortable base of exploration.
You’ll taste wines at the hotel and the 5th generation farm where 15 Mile Winery is located. See how and where wines are made, with a relaxing and awe-inspiring drive in the country. You’ll have a luscious 5 course wine paired meal by popular guest chef Kristen Lillivek of Rooted Event Co, specializing in farm to table experiences.

All accommodations, meals, events and travel is included once you arrive.

Itinerary (subject to change)

Friday February 8th: Arriving in the evening for check in, you’ll taste newly released wines from 15 Mile Winery and meet other wine fans.
Saturday February 9th: After a delightful leisurely breakfast, you’ll have some time to relax at The Balch or explore Dufur. Midday you’ll travel by shuttle to visit our 5th generation farmstead, home of 15 Mile Winery production facility.
You’ll have a rare opportunity to barrel-taste 15 Mile Winery’s upcoming vintages and see what wine-making really looks like.

(this is not your fancy Napa winery experience! Dress warmly - we are a working farm and winery!)

Then return by shuttle to The Balch to have a warm lunch, relax by the firepit, visit with others, or take a walk.

Saturday February 9th, (evening) enjoy a multi-course Winemaker’s Dinner, with food expertly paired by guest chef, Kristen Lillvik of Rooted Event Co. (See Menu Below)

Sunday February 10th enjoy a leisurely gourmet buffet breakfast (with 15 Mile sparkling Rose of Pinot Noir mimosas!) chatting with new friends before embarking on your day. Opportunities for wine tasting at other nearby wineries can be arranged as you head home.
